Yquem 1981

The 1981 Yquem shows its age but retains the estate's unmistakable poise and finesse. Initially resinous on the nose, it opens with air to reveal honeyed fruit and mineral complexity. The palate displays surprising concentration on the finish despite the challenging growing season. At 40 years, it's drinking well now but bottles should be consumed in the near term.
