Yquem 1985

The 1985 Yquem shows the challenges of this difficult vintage. Honey and almond notes emerge, but the wine lacks the signature botrytis character that defines great Sauternes. Well-balanced on entry, yet a persistent dryness dominates the core, creating a disjointed finish that never quite resolves. Not without merit, but falls short of Yquem's legendary standards.
