Pontet-Canet Pontet Canet 1996

This 1996 captures Pontet-Canet in its pre-biodynamic era, yet shows remarkable grace for its age. Cedar, scorched earth and mint define the nose, while the palate reveals surprising fruit density beneath classic Left Bank structure. The wine has entered its secondary phase beautifully, though it's approaching the end of its drinking plateau. Classic Pauillac character shines through with excellent balance and that signature cedar-mint finish.
