Before the biodynamic revolution, the 1999 Pontet-Canet already hinted at this estate's remarkable potential. Blackberry and cedar unfold with pine forest undertones and compelling focus. Medium-bodied with supple tannins and fine acidity, the wine shows greater roundness now than in its youth. White pepper and clove emerge on the persistent finish. One of the vintage's standout Left Bank efforts.
