Pontet-Canet 2005

The 2005 Pontet-Canet is a study in unabashed power and seduction. Inky dark fruit mingles with mocha, chocolate and exotic spice in waves of intensity. This is full-throttle Pauillac with considerable oak influence and extraction that feels almost hedonistic by today's standards. The tannins are formidable and will require patience, but the underlying fruit concentration suggests a brilliant future. Drink 2015-2035.
