Lafite-Rothschild 2011

The 2011 Lafite-Rothschild shows the estate's signature elegance, though it lacks the depth of the château's finest efforts. Brambly red fruit and autumn leaves emerge on the nose, with liquorice notes developing beautifully in the glass. Medium-bodied with chewy tannins that soften mid-palate before a fleshy, tar-inflected finish. Refined and composed, but falls short of First Growth expectations.
