Pontet-Canet 2013

Polished and graceful, the 2013 Pontet-Canet shows the vintage's softer side with appealing red berry fruit, mint and subtle spice. Mid-weight structure suggests drinking in the near to medium term rather than extended cellaring. There's genuine charm here, though the wine lacks the concentration and power of the estate's greatest vintages. Still, this is beautifully balanced Pauillac with considerable finesse.
