This wine spent eight months in predominantly seasoned French oak, with one-third new barrels, achieving 13.8% alcohol. The appearance shows youthful violet hues. striking tension, projecting intense dark berry fruit alongside pronounced floral notes, while layers of Indian spice and cracked black pepper add complexity. A distinct smoky mineral component emerges with extended aeration. The palate shows focused, sappy concentration, delivering black raspberry, bitter cherry and violet pastille flavors that gain sweetness and depth as the wine opens. Fine-grained tannins provide structural definition to the penetrating finish, which displays impressive persistence and recurring floral character.
