Palmer Alter Ego de Palmer 2015

The 2015 Alter Ego shows restraint rather than exuberance in this vintage. Dark cherry and blackberry fruit emerge with coaxing, framed by soft, plush tannins that lack the typical Margaux precision. There's decent density on the mid-palate, but the wine feels somewhat muted and disjointed. Perhaps this is just a quiet phase that will resolve with time.
