The 2019 La Mission Haut-Brion is mercurial and magnificent. Blackberry and crushed iris emerge with sea salt minerality and graphite precision. The palate shows stunning intensity - almost Pauillac-like in structure with layers of black fruit, cedar and crushed stone. Formidable tannins suggest this needs serious cellaring time. A wine that reveals its greatness slowly. Drink 2030-2055.
